Speed awareness
On a tempestuous recent Sunday paddle around Shoreditch this piece on Redchurch Street caught our eye. The artist responsible, David Speed, trained originally as a primary school teacher (alongside indulging his burgeoning passion for creating illegal street art). Finding that the two pursuits were not easily reconciled David decided to throw his lot in with art, walking away from an education system which had itself become an insurmountable source of frustration. We think he made the right choice, as his cutting high contrast, searingly coloured neon treatments light up the street. Look out for his prints, there aren’t many around and they go fast.
